5D Miri+Brunei+Mulu

Assemble at Changi Airport and depart by Scoot. Arrive at Miri International Airport and be greeted by local tour guide. Proceed for dinner. After dinner, transfer to hotel for check-in. Free at own leisure.
DAY 2: BRUNEI HERITAGE TOUR (B/L/D)

After breakfast at hotel, travel to Brunei by land, complete border checkpoints. Tour commence at Billionth Barrel Monument, a symbol of achievement in Brunei’s oil production. Visit Empire Hotel and Country Club, Brunei’s most prestigious and luxurious 6-star hotel. Next is Royal Regalia Museum, which houses the Sultanate’s heirlooms and regalia. Our journey continues to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, a symbol of the Islamic faith in Brunei and dominates the skyline of country’s capital. We’ll also visit the largest mosque in Brunei, Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. Next stop is Kampong Ayer, where you can see neighborhoods of traditional houses. Lastly, stop for a photo taking at Istana Nurul Iman, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei. Transfer back to Miri.

Breakfast at hotel. Check out and transfer to Miri Airport for flight to Mulu. Proceed to Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site to explore Deer & Lang Cave and observe bats in their natural habitat. Deer Cave is one of the world’s largest cave passages that offers a stunning views of limestones, an ancient riverbed and scalloped walls carved by water. The trek through this cave ultimately leads you to the Bat Observatory that houses 3 million Wrinkle-Lipped Bats! Our way of exit is through Lang Cave, a smaller cave also with wonderful limestone shawls, stalagmites and stalactites. You can also catch sight of shimmering webs of thread worm larvae while strolling through the cave. Check-in at hotel after dinner.

After breakfast at hotel, check-out and proceed to visit Penan Settlement by longboat located along the mid stream of Melinau River at Batu Bungan. The Penans are among the last nomadic hunter-gatherers living in the world today and the only genuine nomadic people of the tropical forest of the state of Sarawak. The Penan number is more than 10,000, and less than 300 people still lead a nomadic life. Stop by at Wind Cave along the journey. Arrive at Clearwater Cave, the longest cave system in Southeast Asia. Take picnic lunch at Clearwater Summer Huts and back to Park HQ. Dinner then back to hotel.

After breakfast at hotel, check-out and take flight back to Miri. Upon Arrival proceed City Tour. First we visit a landmark that began Miri’s modernization, The Grand Old Lady. This is the very first drilled oil well in Miri. Next stop is Tua Pek Kong Temple, survived WWII and is the oldest temple in the city. Proceed to Tamu Khas then Handicraft Heritage Center for local products and souvenirs. Proceed to Coco Cabana to see Miri’s coastal line. Lastly, proceed to Miri City Hall. You may also want to enjoy Sarawak delicacies such as Laksa and Kolo Mee to satisfy your tastebuds before transfer to airport for flight back home.
