4D Kuching Indulgence

Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet by your local tour representative and proceed for 3 hours city orientation tour that takes you through the historical centre of old Kuching, past old shophouses and the old Malay settlement west of the city. You will see the indelible mark of the White Rajah with their forts and colonial buildings. Places of interest: Cat Monument, Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS), Old State Mosque, Indian Muslim Mosque OR Tua Pek Kong temple, Waterfront overlooking the Astana and Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak (DUN), Square Tower, Darul Hana Bridge, Brooke Memorial and Old Court House. Then, gather at the Waterfront jetty to board the river cruise. A cruise along the Sarawak River is a relaxing way to enjoy the various phases of the city and retrace the trip James Brooke made when he first arrived in Sarawak. After tour, check in to your selected city hotel and overnight

Breakfast at hotel. 0800hrs depart for a 40-min ride to Semenggoh Nature Reserve, approximately 24km from Kuching to experience a rare opportunity to enjoy close encounters with semi-wild orang utans. These animals have been rescued from illegal captivity and rehabilitated to survive and live off surrounding forest reserve. (Remarks: Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed) Then, visit to Sarawak Cultural Village, a unique award-winning living museum offering informative introduction to local cultures and lifestyles. Highlight of the trip is the 45 minutes traditional dances of the various ethnic tribes of Sarawak at the Village theatre. Lunch at the Budaya Restaurant. Afternoon, tour to the authentic replica buildings of major tribes in Sarawak. After tour, transfer back to hotel and overnight

Breakfast at hotel. 0830hrs depart to the local neighbourhood daily market where local comes to shop for their groceries. Goods on offer include spices & herbs, forest produce, and a whole range of local snacks and delicacies on second floor. Then, continue for local shopping i.e., Main Bazaar, Chinatown, and local souvenir outlet to shop for pepper products, sea produces and bird nest, local confectionaries, arts & handicrafts and kek lapis. Lunch at local coffee shop or restaurant to sample local delicacies from Sarawak Laksa, Kolo Mee, Kacangma (made from motherwort and rice wine), to the seasonal “dabai” fruit and many more (own expense) Returning back to hotel approximately 1500hrs and free at own leisure. Optional: Visit to the Borneo Cultures Museum with entrance fee at own expense
